Administrative Specialist needed for our education client in Cambridge, MD.     The Administrative Specialist will work with targeted assistance programs in the ongoing design, development and learning of disadvantaged children.     The Specialist will be designing and developing the process and materials to support the activities of the branch.   Six month contract position.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide support with administering, coordinating, managing, and improving educational programs for children who are identified as migratory.   Report data to the United States Department of Education on an annual basis.
  • Analyze current data and trends in order to predict effectiveness of resources obtained with federal funding to schools.
  • Designated as the support staff responsible for managing the Maryland Migrant Student Records System and for collecting data that is reported to the federal government at both the State and local levels.

Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of experience working with local, state grants/federal funds.
  • Three or more years of experience working with or within a local school system or state agency preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience working as an administrative support staff, clerical staff, or as a front office managerial support staff.
  • Experience drafting documents.
  • Experience developing and providing technical assistance.

IT Project Managers needed for our education clients throughout the area.   IT Project Managers will perform administrative, project management, business process analysis and support for various information technology projects.   Responsible for generating and compiling project plans and documentation for business processes and operational procedures.   Projects include large system deployments, Accounting Systems and HR Tracking Systems.

Essential Duties:

  • Coordinates and guides projects throughout their project lifecycle, including systems and processes design. Ensures that projects are completed in accordance with established deadlines, budgets, and standards. Prepares appropriate project and support documentation at project completion. Builds relationships with technical staff, management and end users to determine and resolve issues with systems implementation.
  • Works alongside subject matter experts and business owners to gather business requirements, change management and participate in development and implementation of new solutions or enhancements to existing systems.
  • Drives the formulation of business and testing requirements. Be able to conduct a dialog with internal customers in business terms and language, represent and explain IT’s position and translate back into IT requirements.
  • Proactively generates and compiles documentation for business processes and operational procedures.  Makes recommendations and requirements for improvements.
  • Supervises a team of Installers or Technicians.
  • Work with individual schools and the corporate office to manage assigned work order tickets, SLA’s and call tracking systems.
  • Good understanding of technology to include Windows, Virtualization, deployments, VOIP, Disaster Recovery, Servers.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities by identifying and analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develops strategies for improvements.
  • Produces project documentation and artifacts as well as standard Project Management reporting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Computer Science, Communications or a related field. Plus three years of experience as a project manager, business analyst, change management analyst, systems analyst or closely related experience in the analysis of information technology organizations and systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining computer information systems. Thorough knowledge of processes, methods and techniques utilized to analyze and evaluate business operations. Thorough knowledge of project management and program planning. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools including; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project. Knowledge of programming concepts and the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Hands on support experience in the Information Technology industry.
  • Skill in analyzing and evaluating administrative processes for automation. Skill in designing and documenting automated processes. Skill in application and system programming. Skill in the operation of computers and peripheral equipment.
